The location of the evaluations/camp will be on the Grey 2 field. The parking lots for the Yellow and Gold complexes are still currently closed due to being resurfaced with asphalt. Parking will be available in the Blue complex, Orange complex, and Castine Center. PELICAN PARK FOOTBALL 2012
INFORMATION SHEET

• BOYS: Ages 7 – 12 years old

• Age as of 7/1/2012 will determine the age group placement. A child must be 7 years old by 7/1/2012 in order to register in the football program.

• Practices will begin the week of August 20, 2012. In order to teach proper technique in a contact sport, pre-season practices will be scheduled up to 4 evenings per week. Once games begin, there will be a maximum of 3 practices per week.

• Games begin September 8, 2012. The season consists of a 7 game schedule and concludes with a single elimination tournament. All regular season games will be held on a Saturday. Make-up games may be scheduled on a different day of the week.

• All games and practices will be held at Pelican Park.

• Registration Fees cover the cost of officials, a game jersey, a pair of socks, helmet decals, score keepers, secondary medical insurance, and awards.

IT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE COST of a helmet, pads, cleats or pants. Please contact your local sporting goods store for information regarding equipment. An estimated purchase cost for all equipment is between $150.00 - $200.00 depending on the store and the quality of equipment.

2012 FOOTBALL EVALUATION
INFORMATION AND SCHEDULE

All players need to be evaluated. Players must attend one of the two evaluations offered. Players must come to evaluations dressed in full gear, which is shoulder pads, helmet with mouthpiece, leg pads, and rubber cleats. It is strongly suggested that the players bring a water bottle. If your child does not attend one of the evaluations then they will not be allowed to play a skilled position.

All participants must be at the park by the start time in
order to complete the full evaluation.





7/8's Tuesday 8/7:Check in – 5:00- 5:45pm
Starts promptly at 6:00 p.m.
OR
Saturday 8/11: Check in – 8:00-8:45am
Starts promptly at 9:00 a.m.
The evaluation will take 1 ½ to 2 hours to complete

9/10's Wednesday 8/8: Check in – 5:00- 5:45pm Starts promptly at 6:00 p.m.
Or
Saturday 8/11: Check in – 11:00-11:45am
Starts promptly at 12:00 p.m.
The evaluation will take 1 ½ to 2 hours to complete

11/12's Thursday 8/9: Check in – 5:00- 5:45m
Starts promptly at 6:00 p.m.
Or
Saturday 8/11: Check in – 2:00-2:45pm
Starts promptly at 3:00 p.m.

IN THE EVENT AN EVALUATION DATE IS CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER, THE EVALUATION WILL BE RESCHEDULED ON THE NEXT OPEN DATE.

PRE EVALUATION ROOKIE MINI CAMP

Pelican Park and the Football Advisory Board will be hosting a Rookie Mini Camp for all interested registered football players. This mini camp will teach the registered football participants various techniques to prepare them for the upcoming evaluations and football season. It is strongly recommended that all 1st and 2nd year participants attend.

ONLY REGISTERED PLAYERS FOR THE 2012 FOOTBALL SEASON CAN ATTEND THESE CLINICS. NO EXCEPTIONS!

The location of the Pre-evaluation camp will be determined at a later date. The parking lots for the Yellow and Gold complexes are currently closed. The Park is happy to announce that they are being resurfaced with asphalt. This project will be completed in August of 2012.

Pre Evaluation Camp Dates:
7/8 year old age group: Saturday, August 4th
Check in from 8:00am – 8:45am
Camp will start at 9:00am – 11:15am

9/10 year old age group: Saturday, August 4th
Check in from 11:00am – 11:45am
Camp will start at 12:00pm – 2:15pm

11/12 year old age group: Saturday, August 4th
Check in from 2:00pm- 2:30pm
Camp will start at 3:00pm – 5:15pm

IF ANY CAMP IS CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER, IT WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED.

This is a full contact clinic. Football helmet, shoulder pads, leg pads, and mouthpiece are required. The Football Advisory Board will be available to answer any questions regarding equipment or about the season.

2012 FOOTBALL SEASON PEP RALLY

Pelican Park and the Football Advisory Board will be having their annual Football Season Pep Rally. This is a formal gathering of all the parents and players in an age group where the teams are announced and players called up and introduced. This will also give the parents and players the opportunity to hear all the new exciting things happening in the Football program in addition to meeting their coaches, Age Group Directors and Football Advisory Board members.

This will be held on Sunday, August 19th in the Castine Center, Hall A & B.

• 11/12 year olds will meet at 1:00 p.m.
• 9/10 year olds will meet at 2:30 p.m.
• 7/8 year olds will meet at 4:00 p.m.
